Saints frenzy is afoot in our beloved New Orleans, and some of our Musicians’ Village residents have come together to record the song “Wit Da Saints.” From the Times-Picayune, 12/29/09:
One of the more inspiring songs comes from a group of Habitat For Humanity Musicians' Village artists, working under the name Village Block Party, who recently released "Wit Da Saints." The brass-band-style song chronicles the team's early, protracted failures, tracing them back to the Superdome's construction on an old burial mound:
"Big Katrina tore the roof, / the spirits got their anger out. / They joined the chorus of 'This Little Light of Mine.' / Today you can hear their spirits shout."

GO SAINTS!!!!!

As one of the many musicians who was nurtured by the vibrant cultural environment in New Orleans, I cannot overstate the importance of the Musicians’ Village. Please lend your support for those artists eager to call New Orleans home again, and for those in future generations who will be the beneficiaries of their knowledge.- Branford Marsalis
